Windows Hosting is expensive to maintain, both due to the license costs required by Microsoft for Windows and MySQL Server software, and the increased maintenance costs of Windows in general. The only option is for us to pass these costs along to our Windows hosting clients, we believe this is why the Windows hosting packages were unpopular. When the Windows packages were compared to the Linux packages side by side the obvious cost advantages of Linux based hosting were impossible for most clients to ignore. Unless you were a MS .NET developer — there is no reason to host with Windows.
In an effort to focus on Linux based hosting, and provide the highest level of services to our Linux based clients — we will be discontinuing Windows Based Hosting as of March 1st, 2010. For Windows clients who are able to migrate to Linux hosting, we are offering free migration assistance to Linux based hosting, in addition to 3 months of free Linux based hosting. To Windows clients who are unable to migrate to Linux based hosting, we will be refunding your paid hosting fees for the months of January and February 2010 and will make all best efforts to assist in your transition to Windows based hosting at another provider.
We will be contacting each Windows Based hosting client individually to work out a solution. We welcome comments in regards to this matter and look forwarding to providing the highest possible quality of Linux based hosting to all of you in the future.
